About

Hannah Mansfield is a freelance hand embroiderer, tutor and author, based near Bristol in the UK. Within her work she specialises in the techniques of tambour beading and goldwork and is passionate about using these traditional techniques in a modern context. 

Hannah is the author of Tambour Beading: Techniques and Projects, published by The Crowood Press and regularly contributes projects to Inspirations magazine and their series of books.

Hannah is an embroidery tutor for the six month postgraduate training course, the CHANEL and The King's Foundation's Métiers D'Arts Fellowship at Highgrove Traditional Crafts and also teaches embroidery classes across the UK.

Hannah is an award winning embroiderer, receiving first place in the 2019 Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery for her goldwork flowers in the textile art open category.  As further recognition for her work with the goldwork technique, Hannah was made a Trade Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers in 2020.
